Some projects we have been involved in...
The tendering, planning and management of the installation of the Coega slurry cut-off wall, 22m deep cut-off constructed using a cement bentonite self-hardening slurry to form an impermeable barrier in order to excavate and construct the Harbour of Ngqura.
The tendering, planning and management of the Piling in the Dolomitic areas of the Gautrain Viaduct, piles 1,3m diameter up to 60m deep into rock with UCS up to 450MPa.
Large diameter piles (1.3m Diameter) in very challenging ground conditions (SPT values <5 up to 30m) at rakes of up to 1:4 and depths up to 60m. 170 piles installed with permanent casings vibrated to the rock, and sockets drilled into the rock. Involved in developing the solution, the design, tendering for and installation of the piles.
Installation of steel piles and permanent deck for a material handling jetty at Moma Sands in Mozambique, 300m into the sea through the problematic Surf zone in a Cyclone area. 600mm steel piles up to 24m long installed using a vibrator. Involved with developing the solution, design, and planning for the project.
Involved in developing the solution, the design, tendering and the eventual construction of the Diaphragm walls for the Tippler pit at the Richards Bay Coal Terminal. 600mm and 800mm thick Diaphragm walls down to 20m.
The design, tendering, planning and construction of the piles for the KCM Smelter in Chingola, and the Concentrator in Chillilabombwe in Zambia. In total over 7 000 DCIS piles of diameters between 410mm and 610mm were installed on these two projects.
Installation of Lateral Support and Piling for a development in Sandton, with very complex geometric and geotechnical challenges. Design by Fisheagle Geotechnique, Construction by Mega Pile Inland.
